Current Favorites

Over the span of the past year, I took note of some of my favorite things that I’ve seen add value to my every day life. I love to read what habits or products have improved other people’s lives and while we are all different and have different needs, I do find it valuable to learn those little favorite things of others!

Here are my current favorites!

Slippers - These slippers are so comfortable! I sized up for comfort & ease of putting on with the option of wearing socks with them.

Rakuten - I’ve been using Rakuten’s extension for years now and I’m always so excited every time I go to purchase something online and get a small little kickback! It feels like a little treat every few months when I have extra money to spend. If you sign up, you’ll get a bonus through this link!

Nuuly - My sister told me about Nuuly because we are both pregnant at the same time! They offer rentals for non-maternity and maternity clothes that help get you through the months when it feels like you have nothing to wear. I rented six items right before vacation and was so grateful I had clothes to bring that felt comfortable and cute! My link gets you $20 off your first month. In the cover photo for this post I’m wearing a dress rented from Nuuly!

Hot Water Bottles - This is not anything new for me but I love the ritual of heating up water for my tea and water for my hot water bottle at the same time in the morning and evenings. It brings tangible comfort as well as is helpful when you have any body pains that need some warmth!

Magnesi-om - I was skeptical if I would like this or not but it turns out… it is one of my favorite things! I switch between a few different drinks each evening to help me wind down before bed and this one helps me sleep so well. If you don’t want to drink liquids before bed, magnesium capsules would also be a great option! Bonus: it helps relax my muscles while sleeping during pregnancy. I mix mine with tart cherry juice because I like the taste and a couple cubes of ice.

Linen Pajamas - If I were to make this whole post about one thing, it would be linen pajamas. Linen is a natural breathable and odor-resistant fabric which is perfect when you are wearing pajamas for eight or more hours a night! This pair is one of the most affordable options I’ve seen and they wash well. This is another pair I have my eye on!

Every Moment Holy - A friend gifted me the Every Moment Holy book set and I am so glad she did. These books are full of guided prayers for everyday living. If you or someone you know is going through grief, I highly recommend volume two. If you pick just one to get, I would get volume three! This is another prayer book I love!

Daily Walks - I started walking last year for thirty minutes a day and dare I say, it changed my life. My goal is to take this time to pray, get vitamin D, and keep my body moving. I leave my phone at home and have seen this daily practice bring so much clarity into my life as well as build my prayer life! In the spring and summer, I try to go first thing in the morning and in the fall and winter, I go at the warmest part of the afternoon. The winter months have been a little harder for me to get out but my mantra is my mental health is more important than me staying inside!

Recognizing God-winks - It was about a year ago when I started noticing hummingbirds.

Rings - I love jewelry that I can keep on at all times. This year I’ve finally begun investing in rings that will not tarnish over time. I love these rings and investing in things I know I will be able to pass down to my children.

Kodak Half Frame Camera - This has been a fun little camera to use without any pressure. Shooting film can feel weighty since it cost money and has a big learning curve. Think of this like a disposable camera but you get way more shots for your money! I will say the best photos I’ve had from this camera are outdoor photos, so keep that in mind :) I share about this a little more in this post.

Aro Box - I listened to the founders of the Aro Box on the 1000 Hours Outside podcast and found it so compelling to have a home for my phone instead of having my phone as an extension of my body. Jordan was immediately on board. We ordered the box and haven’t looked back! It is a charging station for your phone that automatically connects to an app while charging. The app keeps track of how often your phone is in the box and you can have this connected to other family members to encourage them to keep their phone in the box as well. I keep my phone in the box at night when I go to sleep and I try to keep it in there during the day as much as possible! *This link will get you a free Aro Box and a membership discount.
